Hi!

I'm Barbra Summerhill, and for the past 10years Idaho has been my home. My family and I love it here! The people here are fantastic, and we love the gorgeous area that is Idaho. I've always been an entrepreneur at heart, with a few of my business interests being in finances and mortgages, and in networking to connect people together that have like interests.

About five years ago I started working with some of the amazing local ranchers here, connecting them with my family and friends so they could sell locally grown, grass fed beef and grain and garden vegetable fed pork. My family and friends rave about it! The flavor of a high-quality pasture raised Black Angus is something you just have to taste for yourself. I have loved learning about the ranching industry and work very closely with my ranchers and the two best butchers in my opinion in the area, Woodcock Custom Meats in Rexburg and Graze and Grind located in Firth, ID. I work very closely with the owners of both shops and trust how they operate their facilities, and they always produce exceptional work in the quality of their butchering and cuts.

In 2023, I decided to formally establish Summerhill Local Meats and I operate as licensed livestock dealer in the State of Idaho. I pride myself on being able to educate my customers about buying beef and pork. The finished meat never goes through my hands. Customers will always pick up directly from my butchers and you’ll always have full cutting preferences, meaning you’re never buying a pre-cut boxed of meat. My butchers will go over how you’ll want your meat cut and be able to guide you through that process.

I work with some of the best local ranchers in all of SE Idaho. I've been able to go out with them to their farms and inspect their operations, and I have seen first-hand how they care for their animals and land. They are humane and run their farms with the utmost care and precision possible, and they feel like family to me and treat me as such.
